Deborah,
I'd suggest upgrading to NetView V5.1 on NT. A lot of the problems
you're talking about were either fixed in V5.0a, or V5.1 of NetView
on NT.

We currently run both (V4.1 of AIX version), and V5.1 of NT version.

We don't see the trapd problems on NT.

If I were making a decision for the 1st time... I'd probably look at
the following:
  a) What 3rd party products do I need, and what is supported on
      the platform.
  b) What type of expertise do I have in my support people (AIX or NT).
  c) Overall cost.

Regards,

Gary Boyles gary.p.boyles AT intel DOT com

Hi
I don't know al the differences, but if you have the option of NT or UNIX
I'd
go for UNIX.

We have netview5.0 for NT and are thinking of moving back to AIX.

One major downfall for NT is the seedfile NOT supporting positive ranges, NT
only supports negative ranges. wildcards.are only supported if used with
negative ranges.
Also we have had a lot of trouble with trapd faling over and being unable to
restart, we have to reboot.

If you get anymore horror stories about netview for NT can you forward them
to
me, I need some more arguements for switching to AIX.

Thanks

Hi,

Does anyone know what the differences are between NetView v5.1 on NT, and
NetView v5.1 on UNIX.
