I ended up building and running a new
policy and it ran fine. I compared the new policy to the one that was
there and found the problem was that the schedules still had the old storage
unit in it. We wrote a script using bpplschedrep to correct it.
Everything is good now, thanks for all the help…

Rebuilding the SU works a great deal of
the time.

Well the move finally completed. I
was able to run an inventory and now it shows all my media pointing to the
correct server. The correct devices and robot are all showing up in the
“Devices” window under the correct server. I ran robtest and
it found the robot and all drives with the correct addresses. I’ve
pointed my policies to the correct server. I’m still getting the
219 errors when I try to run a backup. I’ve looked over my changes
and can’t find anything that looks wrong. I’ve got to have
missed something but can’t find it. Anyone have any
suggestions?
Thanks

Yea, I caught that also and made the change
for the policy I was testing, sorry for not passing that along. I think I
may be getting antsy and like you said the move is taking forever. Does
the move have to happen on all the tapes in the library before I’ll be
able to run an inventory?
Thanks

In my experience, the move could take a looong time.
However,
one thing that I don't see you have done is to specify the new media server in
your backup policies. If they're still pointing at the old one, they will
generate 219's.

Our
environment is Netbackup 5.1 MP3 HP-UX 11.31 (11i v3). I just
removed our media server and am using the master as the media server. I
ran a script that did bpmedialist and bpmedia –movedb commands to move my
media from the media server to the master server. I have changed my
bp.conf and vm.conf files so they no longer have anything from the old media
server. I used tpconfig to remove the robot and drives from the old media
server. Connected the drives to the master server and can see them via an
ioscan. I used the NBU gui to add the robot and drives to the master
server. I can see everything on the master server but when I kick off a
job I'm getting "EXIT STATUS: 219 - the required storage unit is
unavailable" . I tried to run an inventory and am getting
"robot number and robot host mismatch". I found a document that
says to select all the tapes in the library, click on Actions -> Move and
uncheck the Volume is in a robotic library box and click OK. There are
about 300 tapes in the library, I did this and it's been sitting there for
quite a while.
1. Did you delete the old storage unit?
2. Did you restart NetBackup after removing the storage unit?
