You also might want to take a look at a VTL that is more integrated with
your tape library. That way it can handle the offload functionality
itself.=20

Buy a solution, not a bunch of stuff you have to put together ;)

Yup makes sense.=20

I've never been tasked with that particular issue and I don't think I'd
want to Vault over an IP link, but, you can probably set it up (I'm sure
someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Using the advanced configuration
options in the Vault settings, you can select a storage unit as source
and a storage unit as destination. You should be able to set Media
server A STU as source and Media server B STU as destination.

Best of luck :)=20

Kate,=20

No, not exactly.=20

Let's say we have two sites, Site A and Site B=20

Here is how we do backup:=20

Server A -> Media Server A -> Robot A -> Tape Drive A -> Tape A=20

Here is how we want to do vault/duplication:=20

Tape A -> Robot A -> Media Sever A -> [IP LINK(WAN)] -> Media Server B
-> Robot B -> Tape Drive B -> Tape B=20

Backup image should be copied from Site A/ Robot A / Media Sever A to
different Site B / Robot B / Media Server B.=20

Media servers A and B are connected to Robots A and B. Media Server A
does not have direct (FC) access to tapes on site B, there is only IP
link between sites.

Does it make sense?=20
