Sure you can.

or
bpduplicate -npc <new primary copy> -backupid <backup id>

Yes, 10 copies total, but you can "only" make 4 at once. Also want to
keep in mind that if you're thinking of writing both copies at once,
they will run at the speed of the slowest drive - so if he's not
multiplexing, his DLT would be slowed down to the speed of a DAT.
