We use groups to meet two requirements:
- backups windows
- differing retention times (group name forces pool selection)
Since we've started using NMM, we've also needed to create groups specifically
for clients using snapshots via NMM. Other than the NMM groups, all our other
types of clients (databases, file systems, different OS's) are grouped together.

Subject: [Networker] How are groups being used ?
All,
Hello. I am curious how all of you are using groups in NetWorker ? Do you
group backups by type: (Filesystem, Oracle, SQL etc.) or do you use other
criteria ? You can respond to me using networker_usability AT emc DOT com or
here
in the listserv.
Thanks,
Skip Hanson
