Based on the information I have just got from EMC, the 7.4 release
recognizes the VTL as being a VTL and requires the new capacity based
license. The autochanger type license would not work here.
What you could do is to purchase an autochanger module upgrade 32 to 40
slot for your PX502 and try to trade in the autochanger unlimited slot
license for a VTL license. If you have got the unlimited slot module as
part of an older VTL licensing, this should definitelly be possible. If
it was purchased for a real tape library, probably not and you need to
buy the new VTL license from scratch.
