Please read the description of "recover" carefully and notice that it
mentions a list.
Then read the description of "add".

The pdf is is where I got the syntax I was using. I would claim the
syntax says the -s is optional with the -R. Nonetheless, I tried it and
results are the same.

argon is my Networker server. fas-ab is destination server. amber is
the client that contains the files I want to restore.

I think I am saying I want to restore the files from
argon.famhs.org\c$\ModusRCO to fas-ab.famhs.org\e$\ModusRCO and I want
to overwrite any filename conflicts.

I am running this from the destination sever.

C:\Pro...\bin>recover -iY -R fas-ab.famhs.org -c amber.famhs.org -s
argon.famhs.org -d E:\ C:\ModusRCO
recover: Current working directory is C:\ModusRCO\
recover> recover
Initiating remote recover to fas-ab.famhs.org from server
argon.famhs.org, this may take a while...
recover: Nothing to recover

looks like you are missing the server.
The attaced is a pdf for cmd

http://web1.legato.com/infodev/publications/cmndref/networker_7.0/pdf/nw
/recover.pdf

hope this helps let me know how it works out.

       Network 7.1; Windows 2000

Trying to do what I know how to do in User gui but can't seem to
get
right on command line. I have to do several restores in a tight
time
frame and don't want to screw up by missing some option in the
gui when
       I am doing it.

Essentially want to recover SeverA\E$\Folder1 and subdirs to
       ServerB\E$\Folder1

What I think the command line should be is:

       recover -iY -R ServerB.domain.org -c ServerA.domain.org -d E:\
       E:\Folder1

Yet when I test this, I get a recover> prompt whereupon I assume
I
should be typing "recover" example below:

       C:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\bin>recover -iY -R
ServerB.domain.org -c
       ServerA.domain.org -d E:\ E:\Folder1
recover: Current working directory is E:\Folder1\
       recover> recover
Initiating remote recover to ServerB.domain.org from server
NetworkerServer.domain.org, this may take a while...
       recover: Nothing to recover
       recover>

Of course there is nothing to recover, it is looking on Network
server
rather than the client that actually had the files.

Can anyone provide me with the right syntax? I gotta be close
but for
some reason it is ignoring the client I want to recover from and

substituting the Networker sever ?? Any way to do a directed
recover
straight from the command line? -a says invalid

       Any help appreciated.
