Hello Mark,

AFAIK the cards inside the ESS are Emulex (LP9002) and not Qlogic.
x-Series HBAs are Qlogic, p-Series are Emulex again and
Cards for the FAStT-series are LSIlogic perhaps.

I've never used persistent binding on the subsystem HBAs
(regardless of modell/maker), but have done it on server HBAs,
particularly if tapes have to be attached to Win*.
