Hi,

I added the directive "Purge Oldest Volume = yes", and reload through bconsole, but still it doesn't work. Do I need to restart bacula-dir service? I have tried running the command update from bconsole as well.

Yes. This is the point of changing volume to used: avoid writing on the same volume so retention time period count don't get reset.
