Hello,
I just want to reply about this particular point. You should be able to use 
filesystem compression on the sd if you do not use encryption during backup. 
Encryption is done on the client side and encrypted data are not compressible. 
Without encryption, the compression ratio will only depend on your data.

Filesystem deduplication will not work with the community version because 
bacula volume are not aligned. But deduplication is not the same as compression.
