Does user bacula (or whatever user bacula-sd is running at) have
permissions on the tape drive?
it sees that permissions are ok:
developer@w3:/dev$ ls -lh sg*
crw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 21, 0 Mar 13 16:20 sg0
crw------- 1 root root 21, 1 Mar 13 16:20 sg1
crw-rw---- 1 root disk 21, 2 Mar 13 16:20 sg2
crw-rw---- 1 root tape 21, 3 Mar 18 10:25 sg3
crw-rw---- 1 root tape 21, 4 Mar 18 10:28 sg4
crw-rw---- 1 root tape 21, 5 Mar 18 10:28 sg5
crw-rw---- 1 root tape 21, 6 Mar 18 10:28 sg6
bacula-sd is running as user bacula, group tape
If this is not the problem you could possibly have to manually modify
your mtxchanger script to make it work for your changer and OS. Make
sure your drive passes the autochanger tests that are in the manual.
some the mtx-changer tests are running fine (we tested moving tapes between slots, but it has problem with loading, the prompt never returns)
Also if this is an autochanger with a barcode reader you should never
manually label tapes. Use label barcodes and put all tapes in the
Scratch pool.
it think that this autochanger does have barcode reader... can you point me to the documentation about barcode readers?
thanks!
