just a note; i see the same errors when i compile a 32 bit build. however i have been testing out bacula and these warnings have not caused any problems thus far.

Thanks for your reply, I followed an earlier post of yours to get bacula to compile with ELF64 problems. Thanks so far.

Here is how I have compiled mysql:

PATH=/opt/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ccs/bin
CC=cc
CFLAGS="-m64"
CXX=CC
CXXFLAGS="-m64"
export PATH  CC CFLAGS CXX CXXFLAGS

cmake   -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/opt/local/mysql     \
        -DWITH_SSL=bundled

there is only cmake and openssl in /usr/local/bin
