Dan,

if you set file retention period for 3 years your catalog will grow.
I suggest you set file retention period for 3 months (same your previous configuration) and set job retention period for 3 years.

 From this morning:

24-Oct 16:00 bacula-dir JobId 39335: Begin pruning Jobs older than 3 years .
24-Oct 16:00 bacula-dir JobId 39335: No Jobs found to prune.

Changes made:

Added this to each Client:

  File   Retention = 3 years
  Job    Retention = 3 years

FYI, database size is now 560M.  Let's see how it grows...
