You could simply set the database column to use 64 bits (how to do
that depends on the catalog backend you use).
I don't know if your version of Bacula already uses 64 bits
internally, which would be necessary - you would have to verify that
in the code.

Yes. At this time, as there are already some patches to 3.0, I would
actualy recommend to wait with an upgrade. Hopefully, packages for
3.0.1 will be available soon.
In your situation, I don't know what I'd do - upgrading or modifying
and verifying your existing catalog and Bacula might both take long.
Introducing a second catalog for critical backups and using that for
the time being might be the most reasonable approach.
