That situation is a bit different to the one outlined above.

I'm not sure about those timeouts... the Job timeouts at least seem to 
be broken, but this *might* be fixed with the devel version - I'm unsure.

What I usually do is to set up job concurrency, so other jobs can run 
while the SD waits for a client to connect.

That does not solve the problem when the SD waits for another volume, 
though.
