Nope. Following is a portion of my /etc/hosts file:

127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.12.44  baculaserver baculaserver.qwerty.com

Following is from netstat -na command:
(I have a local bconsole session running hence the ESTABLISHED entries)

# netstat -na |grep 9101
tcp  0   0 0.0.0.0:9101          0.0.0.0:*            LISTEN
tcp  0   0 192.168.12.44:9101    192.168.12.44:38956  ESTABLISHED
tcp  0   0 192.168.12.44:38956   192.168.12.44:9101   ESTABLISHED

Sorry to ask that twice. I should have been more clear in my first
reply, so I would not have make sure you did the right thing..

You have no other reason why port 9101 would be blocked on baculaserver.

I wonder is the director listening on localhost or 127.0.0.1 and not
on the external interface? Are you sure that the director does not use
127.0.0.1 or localhost in the configuration files?
