Hi all,
a new post after a very long time.
I have two LTO3 changers with 16 slots and one drive (Dell PV-124T).
I have two media pools, each keeping the media for a specific changer.
Right now all media are from the same type.
I have 23 clients, 16 using the first, 7 using the second changer. The
relation between client, changer and pool is build by a jobdef using
different storage and pool.
Right now all jobs runnig one by one - there is only one changer/tape
active at a time. Backup and restore is running well - no bootstrap
editing, no media changing. But my backup time is quite to long!
What i want is something like a second jobqueue. One queue per changer
to keep the simple and smooth handling.
My first shoot would be a second director instance running on an other port.
Now my questions:
Is there a better way than running two directors?
Is it possible to run two directors on the same database to get an
overview with bifi?
Do i need a second storage daemon too?
Thanks for hints, suggestions and meanings! Sorra for my broken english!
Regards,
Mario
