These messages seem to indicate that the tape is not ready, not loaded
or other wise can not be read by bacula. I seem to remember that VXA
tapes sometimes perform a quality control phase that may make a tape
load take 18 minutes or so.. I would look into this other users have
discussed this.


This in my opinion is different from what I have seen when bacula does
not recognize a loaded tape. In my experience the tape is loaded and
the storage daemon recognizes that but bacula does not think it is
loaded and does not even try to access the tape drive to check. When
thinking of this I can see why it does not do that. If the tape is not
at the beginning it would have to fully rewind to determine the label.
