Which of course is why we do not build packages as root and use the
setattrib macro to specify the user:group desired. We are controlling
the ownership of files in some cases, taking the default in others, but
not messing with permissions set by the Makefile in any case, except for
a few broken things that may or may not have been addressed since they
were added (see the spec file comment # now clean up permissions that
are left broken by the install).

Exactly why I am questioning it. My personal opinion, in the absence of
more informed opinion, would be to not change a thing and close the bug
report with the suggestion to the user to manually change the ownership
of bconsole if really desired. The bacula group already exists in the
packages so a chown root.bacula by the user would do the trick.

On my own personal server, if this would help me I would do it. If I
were administering a public company server, I would not do it. IMHO
