Hi
I have big system for backing up about 100 very various systems. I
backup all of them to single disk array, but I need to have few virtual
storages for parallel backup.
So I have single Storage Daemon with 16 devices named device-0 to
device-f (names have exact reasons). In director config I need to have
16 Storage definitions with many directives repeated (storage daemon
address, port, password etc.) When I need to change them, I must change
it in all Storage definitions.
I sugest there would be (in dir config) one StorageServer definition and
for each device there would be one StorageDevice definition referencing
to the StorageServer. Jobs would have a StorageDevice directive instead
of Storage directive.
I think it would be more systematic and lucid.
Or is there a project working on that?
Marek
