Ok, this is definitely the compression. I have disabled it since 3 days
and all backups run through fine. I have three machines hosted by
strato, two of them have Fedora Core 3 installed and one has Fedora Core 6.

Using the same bacula configuration I am able to backup the fc3 machines
with compression disabled (otherwise the Broken Pipe problem occurs).
The fc6 machine has compression enabled and the backup works fine too.
