Thanks Arno for the alternatives you're proposing me. That was exactly
what I need, I will see which one suits our requeriments better. 

I just need to have a log of all the backups done to all my clients in
order to see all the backups done and if they failed or not as a
historic archive.

I know that once the volume retention period has finished it hasn't so
much sense but if the volume retention period is short then it has.
