Google has not been my friend on this issue. �In fact, if you search on my error code today, most of what you'll find is this thread!
Okay, here's an update:
From my BackupPC server, which uses smbclient version 3.4.7, these commands fail:
smbclient \\\\10.10.10.111\\win7home -U username -E -d 3 smbclient \\\\10.10.10.111\\win7home -U backuppc -E -d 3
From another Windows 7 machine, I can connect with these commands:
net use k: \\10.10.10.111\win7home /user:username net use k: \\10.10.10.111\win7home /user:backuppc
My Ubuntu laptop uses smbclient 3.5.4; I can't connect from there either.
I have other Windows 7 machines in the office that I can connect to, and I was able to connect to 10.10.10.111 until about 3 weeks ago, before I assigned the machine to its user, who evidently screwed something up.

Have you tried putting the error into Google and seeing what results come
up?
