I've recently started getting a confusing error with one of the Macs
I'm backing up via tar:
Backup aborted (No files dumped for share /)
dump failed: No files dumped for share /

I realize this is a pretty common error for all sorts of cannot-
connect-to-the-client misconfigurations. What's weird here is that the
server connects to the client just fine and copies a large amount of
data. The tail-end of the tar output (from running sudo -u backuppc /
usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_dump -v -f aubergine) is:

tarExtract: Got file './var/log/asl/2009.09.21.U501.asl', mode 0600,
size 496, type 0
   create 600 501/0 496 var/log/asl/2009.09.21.U501.asl
tarExtract: Got file './var/log/asl/BB.2010.09.30.asl', mode 0644,
size 8562, type 0
   pool 644 0/0 8562 var/log/asl/BB.2010.09.30.asl
tarExtract: Got file './var/log/asl/StoreData', mode 0644, size 12,
type 0
   create 644 0/0 12 var/log/asl/StoreData
tarExtract: Got file './var/log/asl/SweepStore', mode 0644, size 8,
type 0
   create 644 0/0 8 var/log/asl/SweepStore
tarExtract: Done: 1 errors, 30960 filesExist, 15823490040 sizeExist,
15823490040 sizeExistComp, 34851 filesTotal, 17143873836 sizeTotal
Got fatal error during xfer (No files dumped for share /)

TarShareName is set to /
BackupFilesOnly is set to four directories and there's a bunch of
stuff in BackupFilesExclude. These settings haven't changed recently.

Server is BackupPC 3.0 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.

One thing that has changed recently is that the client was upgraded
from OS X 10.5 to 10.6. Not sure if that's relevant, the other Mac
around here was also upgraded and is backing up just fine.

Thanks in advance
-Lorrin
