Hi,
I have recently upgraded a long term BackupPC server from 2.x to
3.1.0. Now that the admin jobs can run during backups, they start at
01:00 and run many hours. 4 backups are running simultaneously and
the load average holds at around 16-17. How is the best way to tune
for performance? It is 75-85% waiting on the disk. Maybe this is okay?
top - 08:21:03 up 1 day, 17:56, 1 user, load average: 16.44, 16.68,
16.56
Tasks: 135 total, 2 running, 133 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
Cpu(s): 8.4%us, 1.8%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.8%id, 88.4%wa, 0.1%hi,
0.5%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 1035864k total, 1023804k used, 12060k free, 12368k buffers
Swap: 3036244k total, 1136444k used, 1899800k free, 386260k cached
Thanks in advance,
James
