They come from gtar :)

The obvious answer is "you're out of memory" -- do you have enough
swap?  Is that a huge directory?

The slightly less obvious answer may be that something funny happened
with the filesystem -- perhaps the directory gtar was working in was
deleted?  Was NFS involved?  ENOMEM tends to be used for reasons other
than its literal meaning.
