Hi,

meanwhile I got my new Tandberg StorageLoader 2U LTO3 Autoloader. But I'm having problems to use it. Maybe some of you can give me a hint:

I tried to label one of the tapes by hand:

# amlabel KAS KAS001 slot 10
labeling tape in slot 10 (/dev/tape):
rewinding, reading label, not an amanda tape
rewinding, writing label KAS001, checking label
amlabel: no label found, are you sure /dev/tape is non-rewinding?

amlabel.*.debug just says:
amlabel: time 125.466: no label found, are you sure /dev/tape is non-rewinding?

/dev/tape is a symlink to nst0:
# ls -la /dev/tape
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 21. Nov 20:17 /dev/tape -> nst0

Using mt shows, that the tape is online, when it's loaded into the drive:
# mt -f /dev/tape status
drive type = Generic SCSI-2 tape
drive status = 1140850688
sense key error = 0
residue count = 0
file number = 0
block number = 1
Tape block size 0 bytes. Density code 0x44 (unknown).
Soft error count since last status=0
General status bits on (1010000):
 ONLINE IM_REP_EN

I use a selfcompiled amanda 2.5.2p1 on openSUSE 10.3 with the included mtx 1.2.18rel-191.

Regards
Marc
