Thanks for that good pointer, Dmitri.

In the meantime things (and the customer's mind) have changed:
It will be VMware Server only in the first phase (without HA), running
on top of maybe SLES10, so I will be able to simply set up Amanda on
that SLES-OS, without the need to run it inside a VM.

So that issue is "solved" for me now, as it seems.
