Consider using the tape spanning feature, at least for your large DLE.
Your tape seems to be 400GB and you are writing > 100GB DLE to it,
sometimes losing 100GB.

If those DLE were set to split into 10 or 20GB pieces, then that is the
the most "wastage" you would have on the tape, the size of a split.
