My archive backups are taking 4 tapes but I think I could
get by with 3 if my files were more evenly spread over the tapes.
I am using
dumporder "BTBTBTBTBT"
NOTES:
taper: tape A00021 kb

taper: tape A00023 kb

driver: Taper error:
"[writing file: short write]"
driver: going into degraded
mode because of taper component error.
The last taper failed because I had specified on 3
tapes in the backup.
tape 1 95% full
tape 2 75% full
tape 3 75% full
The problem is all my small files are getting put on
the first tape (39) which leaves the bigger files for the next two tapes. I
would like to spread the small files over the other tapes.
Do you have any suggestions on how to have the smaller
files more evenly spread over all tapes?
Thanks
Robert
