short write error on amlabel

Hi,

I suddenly find out that amlable is givingthe following error:

  amlabel: writing endmark: short write

whether I use a new tape or reuse an old tape. The label seems to be
correct, amcheck can check thattape, but it is not added to tapelist.

Any idea what is going on?
