I run once at root.
There is the problem.
When running the very first time, amanda creates some files
and directories.
If you did run that one time as user "root" those files and
directories have the wrong permissions.
Every run as Amanda afterwards will run into permission problems.
But amcheck should catch all of these problems.
If not, please let us know which file/dir had the wrong permission
and amcheck didn't notice.
But i always had this problem.
In fact, /amandahasn't a correct user.
I have put the correct user "backup", and i retry, but i always have an
OK, One problem at a time. Now that the permissions of /amanda are
fixed...
error :
FATAL driver reading result from taper: Connection reset by peer
It means that driver issued a command to taper, but taper hung up
without saying goodbye. Any more detailed warnings/errors in the
server log files (amdump.X) ?
Is amcheck still happy?
