A few glitches upgrading to 2.5

Hello!

I am working through getting things to work as before with 2.5. One of
my hosts is now working correctly, though I had to make some changes to
my firewall. I'll discuss this point below.

Another host is still causing me problems. The only hint I can find is
this, in the amtrmidx log file on the backup host (full file contents
pasted below):

  could not open index directory  
    "/usr/adm/amanda/daily/index/host/_home/"

Could this be the cause of "host" not sending its backup? There is no
sendbackup file on "host", and the sendsize is pasted at the bottom of
this mail.


Concerning the working host, a while ago, with the help of people on
this list, I wrote the following wiki page:

On the page, it says that 50000:50100/tcp does not need to be opened for
a local networked host. However, in 2.5, this does not seem to be the
case. My backup only worked once I opened up this port range.

Is somebody able to explain this change to me?
