In my case I see a lot of those because kmail/fetchmail/procmail runs 
24/7.  They are ignorable I believe.

I don't see anything else other than to ask what does df say about the 
partition being used by now?

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules.  I do use spamassassin too. :-)
