I believe this is only as a side effect of tracking, in its database,
the backup status of the individual file, and not as a blanket, done on
purpose thing. This database and its contents are managed just like
the tapes, with amanda removing those files and replaceing them with
new ones at the same time it overwrites that particular (v)tape with
new content.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
