I will check for timeouts tommorow morning.

In the status mail i posted there was no note section.

Did you check for timeouts the debug files in /tmp/amanda?

Is the problem one of those decribed in:

Then you _can_ split it in 20 pieces, isn't it?
Or glob-patterns to group some of them, if needed.
