ISTR I've had that happen once or twice, not recently, because a zombie
was left on the client, possibly due to a timeout error. A reboot of
the client should fix that. And you might add a bit to the timeout
values in your amanda.conf just for insurance. An additional 25%
should be enough, if indeed that was the cause.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
