However, not all '?'s are errors that cause tar to exit. I see them in front
of lines containing:
'file changed as we read it'
'Warning: Cannot stat: No such file or directory'
'File shrank by X bytes; padding with zeros'
'Warning: Read error at byte X, reading Y bytes: I/O error'
'Unknown file type; file ignored'
and those don't cause tar to exit. I'm guessing that the pipe symbol
is prepended to the tar messages Amanda knows are harmless, and
the question mark is prepended to the rest. While the backup of the
file mentioned on that line is probably worthless, the rest of the DLE is
backed up successfully.
