All of my boxes are backing up nicely now--except one. Here's the
problem i get in my ammanda-summary:

  devdb.tons / lev 0 FAILED [Estimate timeout from devdb.tonservices.com]

ok, so it's an estimate checkout.  I went to read some files in
/tmp/amanda... here is thing i found about timeouts (this is in the
amandad* files):

amandad: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: waiting for ack: timeout, giving up!
amandad: pid 3773 finish time Sat Jun  4 03:42:31 2005

I'm not really sure what to think about these things (let alone how to
fix them)... anyone know what to do?
