Does anyone have an amanda configuration for the SpectraLogic 2K [...]

The special devices are /dev/sg0 for the medium changer, and
/dev/st0 and /dev/st1 for the SDX-300C tape drives.

What is your OS? Linux I presume? Try to pilot your changer with mtx:
        mtx -f /dev/sg0 inquiry
        mtx -f /dev/sg0 status
        mtx -f /dev/sg0 transfer 1 2
If these commands work, you are all set. You might want to link /dev/changer to sg0 so that you don't need to give the `-f /dev/sg0' every time; then configure chg-zd-mtx by following the instructions in amanda.conf and the chg-zd-mtx script in amanda's libexec directory. Actually quite straightforward, you should be going in less than an hour.
