My apologies if this has been answered before.

Does anyone have an amanda configuration for the SpectraLogic 2K (a
hand-me-down),
or something that I could modify? I promise not to be a nudnik about it (I
can
modify the dump cycle for my situation, etc).

The kernel reports

[root@dhcp-81-1394 DailySet1]# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00
  Vendor: SPECTRA Model: 215 Rev: 2201
  Type: Medium Changer ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00
  Vendor: SONY Model: SDX-300C Rev: 04c7
  Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00
  Vendor: SONY Model: SDX-300C Rev: 04c7
  Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

The special devices are /dev/sg0 for the medium changer, and
/dev/st0 and /dev/st1 for the SDX-300C tape drives. I have SDX-T3C AIT tapes
(try not
to laugh).

I admit to making a tremendous error: I ran
  amtapetype -f /dev/nst0 -t SDX-T3C
with hardware compression enabled and got
Writing 256 Mbyte compresseable data: 26 sec
Writing 256 Mbyte uncompresseable data: 96 sec
WARNING: Tape drive has hardware compression enabled
Estimated time to write 2 * 1024 Mbyte: 768 sec = 0 h 12 min

define tapetype SDX-T3C {
    comment "just produced by tapetype prog (hardware compression on)"
    length 20430 mbytes
    filemark 129 kbytes
    speed 1691 kps
}

which means I'll have to disable hardware compression and do it over...

Thanks
