I don't see this with my changer. Whenever amanda expects a particular
tape, she'll scan the whole changer, and only then take the first
acceptable one that she found.
Which means that if she expects, in your case, DailySet1-013 which is
not in the changer, she'll start with the current slot, then scan the
whole changer, only to finally use the tape she started out with.
Another case is when you just labeled a few tapes. The current slot at
the end of a mass labeling session, is probably the last one; amanda has
no preference whatsoever among those several `new' tapes, so she'd take
that one. If you want her to take the first one instead, do an
amtape <conf> slot first
after labeling.
