For backups, you need the amanda user in the .amadahosts file on the
clinet (and the server if it is also a client). It looks like you're
using the user 'operator' for backups.
For restores, amrecover and amrestore need to be run as root, so you need
an entry for the remote machine's root in the file on the tape server.
The error message tells you what it sees for the connection, Look for the
string that looks like an email address 'root AT fslim951-2.pe.yr DOT com',
split on the '@' and reverse it, like this:
fslim951-2.pe.yr.com root
and add that to your tape server's .amandahosts file.
