Quite common.
Solaris now comes by default with 5.005... and 5.6.1 and
I add 5.8.? to use with spamassassin.  It is not that
spamassassin needs 5.8, but it needs some modules that
Sun does not supply.  And perl seems picky about what
compiler is used to compile its modules.  They have to
be compiled witht the same compiler and libraries as
the executable perl.  Sun uses its commercial compiler
that I can't afford so I have to build my own perl
and modules.
