Thanks for the help... just posting a follow-up for completeness inthe archives...

I have not read the first block of the tape to see what is there...so I do not know what was wrong. But to move things along I justremoved the mystery tape and inserted a new unused tape. Then, I ranamrmtape for AMANDA's sake. Then a amlabel to write the expectedlabel. Then proceeded with amdump.
