Hi Ben,

I've noticed a similar problem on my system.  I think I may have traced 
the problem to a bug in the 'exclude' lists for amanda (2.4.3b3) 
dumptypes, although I'm still trying to debug the problem a bit more.
I noticed in your previous e-mail that you had and exclude list in your 
call to tar, and so thought this might be relevant.

Basically, whenever I put 'exclude' in any format in a dumptype
definition, that particular dump fails exactly how you've listed in your
message (the sendsize fails).  To see if you've hit the same bug (?) try 
removing the 'exclude' from your dumptype and see what happens...
