Thanks for the feedback. We are still waiting for the IBM FE to gives us a
realistic estimate. Yes, we are doing the manual unloading and reloading
of the 1200+ tapes.
Yes, we are moving the existing power connections and yes they have been
checked for compatibility. We are getting some kind of frame
interconnection feature that lets us connect the power to the L frame and
it daisy-chains to "an adjacent D-frame" that will hold the rest of the
drives (we have 17-drives to move from the 3494). All frames are going to
be D-since management refused to entertain the idea of the high-capacity,
4-tier deep stacking of the S-frame.
