Please post what directories are at issue so we can ponder further.

Are you backing up by double-clicking the "TSM Backup" icon, or the
"TSM Backup for Administrators" icon?  From your posting, I presume the latter.

Do the directory permissions prohibit access in general?

If you go into Preferences, does the Include-Exclude list happen to exclude
those directories?

Administrator is not the same as root, but should have general read access to
the file systems.  The following URL provides a PDF which will be helpful to
