Here is the what is required for tuning.
on client side on server side on AIX side
add these lines to Pl say dsmadmc see that
ur n/w speed is not in autonegotiation.
dsm.sys file >set opt for the following its
100mbs/sec.
LARGECOMmbuffers Yes these values get updated See that
ur default gateway does not have n/w
   TCPBuffsize 32 in dsmserv.opt file.
congesion.
   TCPNodelay Yes
   TCPWindowsize 64
   compression yes BUFPoolsize
                                 LOGPoolsize
-----Original Message----- EXPInterval
                                 MOVEBatchsize
                                 MOVEBatchsize
                                 MAXSessions
                                 TXNGroupmax
                                 USELARGEBUFFERS

It may pl be noted that client side tuning is done for network related
tuning.
Another parameter is memoryefficient backup The trade off is TSM client and
CPU overhead.
One more parameter to look at is TXnbytelimit.Pl look at info on web site to
set this.

If still ur data xfer is slow pl mail me I will be helpful to u to work in
different directions also.

Pl also see that u have patches set to latest maint. level.

go to the Tivoli web site www.tivoli.com and search on
adsm tuning guide or tuning guide. Support developed
this tuning guide to assist administrators in tuning
and understanding all of the elements involved awhile
back. It's very good and I've used it at IBM
previously. The down side is that tuning isn't
covered in support contracts and it's charged on an
hourly basis. Hope this helps. If you need anything
else please don't hesitate to yell.
Thanks,
Angela
