Do client node volume labels need to be unique?
1994-06-30 13:24:56
"PC/LAN Support" at my organization does not label most volumes on the Lan
servers or workstations at installation time. It seems (during initial backup
testing) that ADSM requires a volume label to be able to identify the drive
being backed up. A new "policy" of labeling drive volumes (thanks to ADSM) is
about to put into place. My question is as follows:
Will it cause problems if different clients have (e.g.) C: volumes with the
same volume name? (Most of our workstation volumes that even have labels
are simply labeled "OS2" at this time.)
